Support for students

As part of our commitment to providing a safe environment for students to study, we continue to monitor ACT and Australian Government advice to ensure that our students are informed and supported appropriately.

Students requiring administrative support, course advice or assistance should contact student.centre@canberra.edu.au.

Students facing hardship due to impacts of COVID-19 can contact wellbeing@canberra.edu.au to discuss their concerns and needs.


Student support contacts

Student support services within Student Central (Building 1), including Student Wellbeing and Support, and InclusionUC are available to students in-person and online during business hours (Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm).

For out of hours wellbeing support contact the UC Crisis Line on 1300 271 790 or text on 0488 884 227.


Student Central

The Student Central team is fully equipped to assist and support our students. You can access Student Central in Building 1 or via email, phone or chat.


Financial support

Students impacted by financial hardship, are encouraged to connect with the Student Wellbeing team.

Accommodation expenses

If you are experiencing financial difficulties and struggling to pay your on-campus rent, please email UniLodge directly to discuss the option of a payment plan.

If you require financial support and you do not live on campus, please contact wellbeing@canberra.edu.au.

For residential advice for rental properties not on campus, students should contact helpline on 1300 654 314.


Job and placement support

Careers UC is open to all students and recent graduates. Whether you need a job, would like to discuss your future career, or need placement or internship support, we are here to help.


Legal Aid

Students can access free legal advice on campus or through phone appointments.

UC Citizen Centred Justice Clinic

Sometimes your health and well-being may be adversely affected by legal issues you don’t even know exist – talking to a lawyer can help.

Students, staff and our local Canberra community can access specialist free legal advice in this joint initiative between UC Medical & Counselling and the Faculty of Business Government and Law.

Your consultation will be with a Lawyer, supported by students working towards their legal qualification. The service is confidential, professional and free.

Ngunnawal Centre Tutoring Program

The Ngunnawal Centre Tutoring Program will be managed between the tutor and the student as to which communication support method works best for both the student and the tutor, e.g. telephone, video call or online facility.

Tutoring program enquiries can be emailed to NgunnawalTutoring@canberra.edu.au.
